Corte Madera & Larkspur

Corte Madera and Larkspur are two neighboring communities in the heart of central Marin County which share a school district.

Corte Madera

Corte Madera is a small town situated at the base of Mount Tamalpais, known for its natural beauty and access to some of Marin’s finest restaurants, stores and public schools. Spanish for “chop wood,” Corte Madera’s abundance of Redwood trees were crucial in the original construction of San Francisco.

Corte Madera is also home to a great deal of stunning wildlife. Ring Mountain offers numerous hiking trails with views of San Francisco, while acres of ecological preserves will keep both birdwatchers and admirers entertained.

The Village and Town Center — two of Marin’s finest shopping centers — present world class shopping and dining options for residents. Ranging from large department stores like Nordstrom and RH Marin to more independently-owned restaurants and stores like Flores (family-style Mexican Restaurant) and Louis Thomas’ Fine Men’s Clothing, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Corte Madera’s small town aura, wonderful microclimate, top-rated public schools, and beautiful scenery make it a top choice for prospective Marin residents.

Larkspur

Larkspur is located 15 minutes north of San Francisco, Larkspur presents a unique balance between some of Marin’s finest offerings. Larkspur’s historic downtown is home to a multitude of distinguished restaurants and shops, and its remarkable views of Mount Tamalpais offer a window into Marin’s natural beauty.

Magnolia Avenue is the main street in town, lined with quaint coffee shops, excellent restaurants and bars, unique and trendy boutiques, and the historic Lark Theater, whose beautiful sign lights up the downtown at night.

Larkspur residents have access to top-rated public schools, and students and families alike take advantage of the beautiful Redwood tree-covered bike paths that connect the three schools and link Larkspur to neighboring communities of Corte Madera and Kentfield. Larkspur is ideal for hikers, bikers and outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy the beautiful trails which circle King Mountain and link to the Mt Tamalpais watershed district. The town’s near-perfect microclimate makes it an amazing place to live all-year-round.
