Greenbrae & Kentfield

Greenbrae and Kentfield are two adjacent, unincorporated communities in Central Marin which share the coveted Kentfield Schools District. Both schools are part of the Tamalpais Union Highschool District/Redwood Highschool.

Greenbrae

Greenbrae is conveniently located close to Highway 101 and the Larkspur Ferry Terminal and offers an excellent balance for those seeking both access to nature and proximity to San Francisco. While Greenbrae was developed in the 1940s, efforts to maintain the beautiful wildlife that predated the residents are evident on every street. Oak trees and lush greenery line nearly every sidewalk and park in the town.

Greenbrae offers a near perfect micro-climate and homes with unique, California-style architecture, many with Mount Tamalpais and/or Bay views. Residents enjoy easy access to outdoor recreation areas and close proximity to two of Marin's destination shopping and dining areas: Bon Air Shopping Center and the Marin Country Mart. Presenting much more than traditional shopping centers, these lifestyle venues offer popular restaurants like Gott’s, The Hog Island Oyster Bar, and Farmshop. They also host special events, weekend farmers’ markets and have outdoor activities like bocce ball courts and unique play structures for children.

Kentfield

Located on the eastern slopes of Mount Tamalpais, Kentfield’s vast properties and lush landscapes stand with some of the finest in the country. The community offers a variety of home environments, from private, hillside, properties with views of Mt. Tamalpais and the SF Bay to bungalows in the flats, close to schools, public pathways, shops, markets and restaurants. All Kentfield residents enjoy easy access to hiking trails, the renowned Woodlands Market and some of Marin’s finest public schools.

Just seven minutes off Highway 101, Kentfield offers a taste of Marin’s gorgeous landscape while still maintaining its sense of community. Kentfield is also home to College of Marin, one of the state’s top community colleges (which also has extensive class offerings for adults).
