Novato
Marin's northernmost city is community oriented with a country feel but close proximity to San Francisco.
Novato is Marin’s northernmost city, located 22 miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge amongst a vast, beautiful landscape. Second only to San Rafael in terms of population, Novato is one of Marin’s more appealing options with a community oriented, country feel but with close proximity to San Francisco for commuters.
Novato has good schools, a bustling downtown and great weather. This town offers a variety of lifestyles and homes in all price ranges, including modest neighborhoods with ranch style homes, golf course communities with stately properties, newer developments with well appointed homes and community amenities, and more secluded estates and larger horse properties in the West and Eastern edges of the county.
Novato’s downtown area has been revitalized and is a hub of community activity, with excellent shops, wine bars, coffee shops, and restaurants. Evenings and weekends come alive with seasonal farmers’ markets outdoor concerts. Stores and grocers like Whole Foods, Trader Joes, Costco, Nordstrom Rack and Target add convenience for Novato’s residents.
Centrally located between San Francisco and Sonoma County’s beautiful wine country, Novato offers families the Marin lifestyle at a slightly slower pace.
