San Anselmo & Fairfax
Fairfax and San Anselmo are in the beautiful, western portion of Marin County and share the Ross Valley School District.
San Anselmo
Just north of Ross, San Anselmo boasts one of Marin’s most charming and historic towns. A picturesque San Anselmo Ave is lined with coffee shops, art galleries, boutiques and restaurants — perfect for an afternoon saunter.
Minutes from San Rafael, San Anselmo residents enjoy a small-town feel with easy urban access. Biking and hiking trails are abundant, leaving nature lovers no shortage of things to do on the weekend.
San Anselmo is also considered a part of the Ross Valley School District, giving students access to some of the top rated public schools in the county.
Fairfax
Once a cultural hub during the 1960s, Fairfax has maintained both its charm and history nearly six decades later. Located north of Mount Tamalpais and roughly fifteen minutes off the highway, Fairfax offers a combination of community with a West Marin vibe that’s unlike any other town in Marin.
The same softball field that the Grateful Dead played Jefferson Airplane on in the mid-60s is still used by athletes from Fairfax today, and that’s no coincidence. Much of Marin’s music and arts scene still lives in Fairfax, whose streets are lined with restaurants, boutiques and bars. Downtown Fairfax is highlighted by a longstanding movie theater and 19 Broadway, a nightclub regularly showcasing live music.
Just a stone’s throw away from West Marin, Fairfax residents enjoy easy access to hiking trails, beach access and open space. Excellent schools and outdoor activities make this an ideal community for raising children as well.
